What you get
Each worksheet includes an original passage written for the grade level you chose, typically two hundred to five hundred words, followed by comprehension questions and an answer key. Questions mix literal recall with inference so you are not only checking whether students decoded the text. Nothing is pulled from a bank of pre-written passages — the passage is written for the topic you asked for.
Differentiating a reading passage properly
Reading is where mixed-ability classrooms hurt most, because a passage pitched at grade level locks out your struggling readers entirely. The below-grade version shortens the passage, simplifies the sentence structure and vocabulary, and adds scaffolding to the questions. The above-grade version does the opposite: denser text, more demanding vocabulary, and questions that ask students to infer, compare, and evaluate rather than locate. Same topic and same objective, so the whole class is still genuinely in the same lesson.
Standards and prep
You can tag any worksheet to a specific standard — Common Core, TEKS, NGSS, or your state's — and it will be written with that standard in mind. Everything prints cleanly on paper or exports to PDF, with a discreet footer for your own records.
Questions
Common questions
Is the passage original?
Yes. Each passage is generated for the topic and grade level you specify rather than retrieved from a fixed library, so you can request very specific subjects.
Can I choose the question types?
Reading comprehension worksheets mix short-answer and multiple-choice questions. If you want a purely multiple-choice sheet, choose the multiple choice worksheet type instead.
Does it include an answer key?
Every worksheet includes an answer key, which you can show or hide on screen and include when printing.
